new publishing method - javascript

XML is doable it seems as ISAF is XML done with a plugin. May have missed the documentation how you write a plugin…

CSV you can export to already, but not FTP it over.

SQL - nope but you wouldn’t upload directly in SQL normally - you’d pass a form or data and let the PHP or whatever parse it into the SQL which is what the XML would do.

Some discussion in the last 2 days re upload to joomla… …I’d support this taking XML, parsing it into the SQL and then presenting the results.

Upload in csv, xml, to MySQL, etc?

Plugins aren't written by users, they are written by the developer. Right now the ISAF plugin allows for the Olympic classes only. Presumably, a new plugin could be written that would allow output for non-Olympic classes. I imagine that wouldn't be too difficult.

Why not just a plugin to allow the upload of the xml or csv data to your already setup ftp area?
Why is it Olympic classes only?

XRR has been used for Olympic classes upto now as they are directly under control of ISAF. Proposal now is to use XRR as standard for all regatta reporting, and gradually add other functions.

So is the issue not the ability to upload in xml format but the initial setup of the event to be able to produce that xml file with the correct fields?

Thanks
