SWPrize .Exe and how you install into Crossover

I need to get a copy of SWPrize.exe installed into my macbook Pro with Crossover, and i cannot seem to get it to work.

Anyone any ideas please?

Thx

Hi John,

Please could you expand on what you have done so far?

Question - does SWList work as this is installed as part of a

normal Sailwave install?

Kind regards,

Huw

Huw,

My current configuration on this particular system has crossover with sailwave including SWlist working fine.

The issue is that i now need to add SWPrize to the existing bottle, as i was hoping to use it out on the road later today at the end of a League event in the club.

The issue is that the latest version of SWPrize is in .exe form only, it normally is included within SWAddons, but this does not include the latest version of SWPrize, so my only option is to try and add SWpirze.exe direct into the bottle…if i can…

thx

Huw,

OK, managed to get this sorted.

Instead of tryign to “install” it i found that if you run the “Run Command” script within the existing Sailwave Bottle you get a window that allows you to insert the path of the swprizes.exe then press run and the SWPrize window appears preloaded with the Prizes file created on the my normal system ( We use Dropbox for all Sailwave data files)

Seems to be OK, but thanks

JohnW

SWPrize doesn’t require any dependencies
neither does SWCList

So both of these should work fine

When you say it doesn’t work what doesn’t work?

Hi John,

Pleased to hear you have got things working. SWPrize is a

straight executable and not part of any install process. So as you
have found it is just a question of right incantation to make it
work.

All best with your use later today.

Kind regards,

Huw

Jon/Huw,

Sorry but i am not too comfortable with the way in which Crossover/Wine are organised/configured on the Mac, so a little slow in understanding how things are done in this respect.

But thanks for your continued support.

Hi,

My initial euphoria at getting SWPrizes to run under Crossover was short lived…

It sort of runs, but it is very intermittent, in that i get two error messages the first is

Sailwave PickList registry entries missing

and the second

Sailwave Options registry entries missing.

However if you browse to the Sailwave file and select it that it runs but gives the second of the above errors, but then publishes what appears to be an accurate HTM file.

But i have also had instances of a third error message which looks very similar to the error message that i attached to my earlier and different post on running SWPrizes.

I also note from a couple of posts on other forums that installing an .exe app via the Run command is not always 100% reliable… so a health warning …

Maybe installation via the SWAddons process may have a positive effect?

Anyway just an update

JohnW
