Version: 6.0.732 / Virus Database: 486 - Release Date: 29/07/2004

In W98, I no longer get the error message regarding the rating file
when starting up. Going into Global options also displays no error.

I now get a message "Locale file - C:\WINDOWS\Desktop - Access
Denied"

I also then get a message "When you close Sailwave 1139 new items
needing translation will be added to your locale and 0 items that are
now obsolete will be removed from your locale."

I have re-installed sailwave into the c:\sailwave directory.

Have not had a chance to check anything else yet but so far it seems
like everything else is working after the error messages are given
the ok.

Regards
Terry

Hi Terry,

It sounds like you have something set in the locale field of the Global Options. Can you check the Language tab of global options and make sure that the locale field is blank.

Colin

Colin,

I have done some testing of this version (1.58 2nd August 2004) and found the following points so far:-
a.. When publishing results for an individual race with the show DNC check box unchecked the DNC competitors for that race are shown
b.. When publishing results for an individual race there is a space missing after printing the number of starts in that race
c.. Sail Number Wizard is reporting a duplicate sail number, but I cannot find the sail number listed multiple times when I sort on the sail number column. I have two different versions of a series, one scored using RYA Appendix A and the other using a High Point custom scoring formula; both series report a duplicate sail number but the number is different in both series!
I like the enhancements to to sail number wizard when selecting a race.

That's all for now, I hope you find the feedback useful.
Kind regards,
Huw

Hi Colin

You are correct, when opening the Global Options, under the Language
TAB, I found "C:\WINDOWS\Desktop" entered into the Locale field. I
promptly deleted this, closed the program and restarted it again, to
find the same error messages, and going into global options, found
the same "C:\WINDOWS\Desktop" entered once again.

Any ideas?

Terry

Hi Terry,

you must point at a languagefile.

Download eng.txt and put it where you want to have it. Others may
download or create their own language files. Start Sailwave and
point the file out inder global options/language. End and start
again.

Hope this will help.

Hi Terry,

I had a feeling you were going to say that so I worked on a another way around things for Windows 98. Try the latest 1.58 beta; I think it should be OK for you...

Mark S, can you try this too.

Hi Huw,

a.. When publishing results for an individual race with the
show DNC check box unchecked the DNC competitors for that race are shown

I don't see this! - have to assume implcitly fixed somehow in very latest
version.

b.. When publishing results for an individual race there is a
space missing after printing the number of starts in that race

Fixed.

c.. Sail Number Wizard is reporting a duplicate sail number,
but I cannot find the sail number listed multiple times when I
sort on the sail number column.

Can you send me the series - I don't see that either! Is it because you
ticked the box to only consider the numeric part of the Sailno and you have
K34 and P34 for example. If so that's expected behaviour.

Colin

Colin,

Thanks for taking a look at the problems.

A)I have done a bit more research and found that it (DNC appearance) happens
when one of the starts has no competitors racing and one has used the starts
tab on Edit Race. I will send separately a copy the current club series
which exhibits the problem.

To show the problem Publish race results for race 10, which has no boats
racing in Start 2 (Flying Fifteens) The thing with publishing DNC's seems to
occur when one of the starts does not have any boats racing. The problem is
exhibited if all fleets are selected or an individual fleet is selected.

If one publishes the results for R6 the problem of listing DNC competitors
does not exist, as I have not defined the start times using the Edit Race |
Starts tab.

B) thanks

C) sending file as attachment in separate email - it is the same file as for
A) above

I have found another little problem; I tried to delete from R10 referred to
above the start entry for Start 2 and I get prompted to confirm the deletion
of Start 5 the last entry.

I hope this extra information is useful and thank you for taking the time to
look at these issues.
Kind regards,
Huw
