We want to run our handicap races with 2 starts i.e. Fast and slow with a 3 minute gap between, but score as one race. It would be good if our race officer only had to record elapsed times for all boats so can Sailwave calculate the results for us making the 3 minute allowance?
select which competitors on start 1 - this will require a
field being set to the same value string for all competitors on
this start, for example use the Division field and make the
identifying string ‘Start One’ without apostrophes
set for start 2 to 000300

identifying string ‘Start Two’ without apostrophes
You will then score using the first option on the scoring series
window of score all competitors as one group.
Hope that makes sense, if not get back to me with more details and
possibly a Sailwave .BLW file which contains your competitors.
Explaining which ones will be in start 1 and which in start 2.

I have to apologise as my previous instructions were slightly wrong.
I have attached my version of the file.
My error was I should have added that for each start in a race it
should be set as finish time not elapsed time, even
though you are using elapsed times. By setting the start time for
the Fast division to 000000 and the Slow division to 000300,
Sailwave will now subtract 3 minutes from the elapsed time of the
Slow division and nothing from the Fast division.
You should check the rating value of the Laser Radial and the RS
Aero 7as I have used the values for the RYA 2015 July spreadsheet
they made available.
Hope this helps but if yu still have questions get back to me.
Kind regards,
Huw
