Hi all..

I m Gokhan from Turkey. I ve just joined the group.. I need urgent help about below topic..

I wish to change default code as DNF instead of DNC. (At the end of scoring, SW is attaching DNC code to all unfinished boats.. Is it possible to change this attachment as DNF)

Scoring is defined under ‘Scoring system / Scoring codes’ but be careful what you change :wink:
A non-finishing boat would usually be manually scored as DNF, rather than relying on Sailwave to score all without an entered result as DNF - which is different from DNC, or DNS, or…

Thanks for quick reply.. Yes You are right but I ve an exceptional case and I need to score all non-finishing boats as DNF automatically first and make some manuel corrections then.. Is it possible to do this via SW software.. I ve attached my scoring codes screen shot to this message. I hope it is.. Please advise me in detail asap. Hi Gokhan. You can’t change the default code. If the boats did start and did not finish then you must tell Sailwave. If they didn’t start then Sailwave will save you from entering a did not compete.

I did send the above message about 7-8 hrs ago but it doesn’t appear so he is a copy

added now - From the point of view of points there is normally no difference between DNF and DNC

It should only take a couple of seconds to add a DNF to the boats that did not finish - How many boats do you have that are DNF?

Hi Jon, thanks for the quick reply.. I ve 300 boats in different categories.. There are 60-70 DNF boats in every start.. DNC and DNS boats are so few around 5-10.. So I need to assign DNF code first to 70-80 boats and change 5-10 of them from DNF to DNC/DNS..

Download this program

To use Enter the results in Sailwave and score as normal - This will insert DNC’s for all boats that don’t have any results.

  • Save the file and close Sailwave
  • Run the above program
  • You will be prompted for the Sailwave file but it will default to the last one you used.
  • Click Select Race it will then display which races are in the file defaulting to the last one
  • Click Convert and all DNC’s for that race will be converted to DNF
  • Re-open Sailwave and you will see them all as DNF
    Let me know how it goes. It will create a .bak file when you click convert but suggest you make a backup before while you are testing. Tried it myself and it seems to work fine.
