It has just occured to me that the majority of the messages posted on
this website are either requests for modifications to sailwave or for
help on using it.
It is rare that any of us take the time to thank Colin for making our
lives so much easier with Sailwave. Racing has been around for
hundreds of years and until a quality program such as Sailwave was
developed everything was done 'long-hand'. Whilst we would all like
to go racing and find upon our return to shore the automatic sensors
have logged our start and our finish, reported them to the shore
computer who has already calculated all the fleet position, special
trophies and overall series position, engraved the trophies and put
the kettle on, this is a long way off!
Sailwave, with Colin's dedication, is the best scoring software
around and the fact that he can develop it, respond to everyones
requests and queries, satisfy his family's requirements (???) and
hold down a full time job demonstrates how indebted we all are to
him. If the Queen was interested in racing I am sure Colin would
(and should) be on the honours list!
A big big thank you from Naseby SC for making our lives easier and
whatever Sailwave develops into we are glad that the pencil, paper
and calculator now collect dust.

I would like to add my thanks to Paul Bartlett's. I cannot even imagine
going back to the 'good old days' . As well this e-mail sailwave group
provides an interesting spectrum of how others around the world address and
solve their local racing needs.
Thanks again Colin.
