abandonment feature request

I would like to suggest that there be an "Abandon all starts" check-box in the Edit Race window and an "Abandon this start" in the Edit Start window. When checked, all the finish/code data is retained, but the race/start is not scored or published. All finish data for the abandoned races/starts would appear grayed-out in the main Sailwave window. If need be, a code of "ABN" could appear as a placeholder in the published results, particularly if not all starts in a race are abandoned.

The "Discard me first" workaround described in Mark's User's Guide becomes unwieldy if only selected fleets are abandoned, which then requires multiple scoring systems to properly tailor the discard profile for each start. Also, I find the published results are confusing and don't tell the whole story.

I am not sure I agree with doing what you suggest. However you can achieve much of what you want by checking the “Discard me First” option in “Edit Starts”, and then changing the discard total so that the race is discarded.
