Hi Anne,
I
guess you created or edited the file with Excel or similar. Excel locks the file - sometimes you need to even close Excel before it releases the file. But it is an Excel issue, it’s not problem with Sailwave. Just make sure you have closed Excel before you import the file.

Hello All,
An interesting challenge. The are only 6 boats in this fleet, two teams of three boats each, so I could easily do this in a spreadsheet. However, it’s part of a very large regatta (500 competitors, 35 scored classes), so it would be nice to do it in Sailwave. So anyone care to speculate as to whether this could be coded in Sailwave:
1. Scoring
1.1 Sailing Instruction GR 11.2 is amended. There will be no discards. This changes Appendix A2.
1.2 A different weighting will be applied to the results for each day’s racing. The results for the first day will be multiplied by 0.5; second and third day by 1.0, and fourth day by 2.0.
1.3 A team score will be the aggregate cumulative scores for (2) of the three (3) boats in the team for each race on Thursday and Friday and three (3) of three (3) boats for each team for Saturday and Sunday.
1.4 The winning team will be the team with the lowest aggregate team score.
Don’t lose sleep over it!

1.2 is no problem as long as you tick the box “Race weightings” in the setup GUI
1.3 Is not possible directly as Sailwave only supports a simple team racing system - See publish Team Prize table
So no problem for the scoring just the team prize you will have to calculate manually or copy the results into the clipboard and paste them into excel with a template for your rules.
