AddC Flight Reassignment

Hi Colin

Re-assigning flights is only based on 'completed' races.
ie all flights have completed the same number of races.

Scenario:
Four flights
Three flights have sailed 3 races
Last flight has sailed 2 races (last race abandoned)
Results person has entered race 3 results for the three flights.

If score the series, competitors with two races will be scored DNC for race 3
AddC requires re-assignment for races 4 to 6 is based on positions after race 2

Any chance of something that will ignore a race from being included in series scoring?
This will also need facility to switch off when the race has been sailed

Hi Ralph,

I've always thought that if somebody enteres results for N of M flights then
the series cannot be scored, essentially all comeptitors are in the same
race and it's just like recordeing some of the finishers. So I would not
enter the results in the first place. If they have been entered they can be
cleared with the clear results tool.

Have have I been misinterpreting again...?

No your logic is absolutely correct

I suppose I am trying to make SW perfect :slight_smile:
We all aim to get results in the noticeboard before the sailors return to shore.
In AddC racing, quite often, a fleet/flight launch, do their races B2B, come back.
Then the next flight launches.

It is possible that the last fleet/flight don't get all their B2B races in.
Then AddC 7.2(a) and (c) kick in

Clearing previously entered results is a solution.
I thought I had seen a similar request from someone to 'ignore' a race
Might be something to add to the dev plan if there is not a quick fix
