We are running a large Laser regatta that includes Laser Standard, Laser Radial and Laser 4.7 competitors. The Laser Radial fleet was split into flights; Yellow Blue flights for day 1, new Yellow Blue flights for day 2 and then Gold Silver for days 3 and 4.
We have encountered a few challenges verifying and printing the results.
We are unable to easily verify the results in sailwave against finish boat results. The finish boat has a list of 190 finishers with Laser Standard, Laser Radial Yellow, Laser Radial Blue and Laser 4.7 inter mixed on the same sheet. Sailwave displays the four starts separately; Laser Standard, Laser Radial Yellow, Laser Radial Blue and Laser 4.7. It is then impossible to reconcile results the finish logs with Sailwave.
After switching from Yellow Blue flights to Gold Silver we were unable to create properly formatted results to print or post on the web. During flights we printed Laser Standard, Laser Radial and Laser 4.7 results, Once in the final we wanted to print Laser Standard, Laser Radial Gold, Laser Radial Silver and Laser 4.7.
If we scored by flights the Laser Standard and Laser 4.7 results get messed up.
If we scored by fleets the Laser Radial Gold and Laser Radial Silver results get messed up. Laser Radial Gold and Laser Radial Silver are printed as a single fleet with top Silver fleet competitors ahead of the bottom Gold fleet competitors.

If I understand correctly. Then the solution is to make the Gold and Silver become fleets use the tools set competitor field to copy from the flight field. Then score by fleets and all should be fine.

I went to tools and unscore series but it shows the competitors fleet finish position not the overall finish position on the race course. This is the same problem that we are having when we use the rearrange recorded places

That is because you have different starts specified. If you had no starts you will have them all in line and then when you score by fleet they will be scored within the fleet

We are using a standard Addendum C, where after sailing in Yellow and Blue for the qualifying series the top half of the boats move to Gold and the bottom half to Silver.
When I use the tool to change Fleet from Laser Radial to Laser Radial Gold and Laser Radial Silver, I also need to change the starts from Flight Gold, Silver to Fleet Gold Silver. However having done that I start to get scoring problem messages for Race 1-6.

You are using flights and fleets together. This I think is the cause
of your problem. Flights should be used for the qualifying series
and fleets for the final series.
The competitor not in start message is exactly what it says. You
said you had renamed flights yellow & blue to Gold and Silver, I
think this is the cause of your problems. I would have expected to
rename the Fleets to Laser Radial Gold & Laser Radial Silver and
additionally set on the Appendix LE tab of the scoring window what
race number is the first of the Fleet races and also check the box
that says do not rescore qualifying series after final series race
has been completed.
If you care to send me a copy of the Sailwave.BLW file I will take a
at it. A copy of the SI’s would be helpful as well.
Kind regards,
Huw

If I don’t include starts for yellow and blue, it scores the blue fleet behind the yellow fleet. The first boat place in blue receives 55th place. The change works for Gold Silver when you change them to fleets

If you specify that the series consists of qualifiers and finals
Then specify the first finals race
Then tick the box to not rescore the qualifying races when 1 or more final races are sailed this is how I would do this.
