At an open meeting this weekend, the results officer commented on the "New Like" button.
The facility is great but very dangerous as it creates an exact copy & if the user is distracted in
any way, mistakes can be made (they actually deleted a valid competitor!)
Would it be possible when clicking on "New Like" to then automatically launch the edit competitor
box with at least the helm & crew cells blank.
More often than not, this facility is very useful when entering the same class of boat (& fleet) but
other data will usually need to be deleted, thereby taking longer to set up competitors.

What do others think about this facility
There is an option in Setup+GlobalOptions to launch the competitor editor
after adding a new competitor. But as to what fields to clear, it's
difficult because some events use helm/crew and others (cruisers for e.g.)
just use boat name, and some just use Sailno... I think it would have to be
under user control...

New like complete works well when you have to set up fleets of alias boats as I have done in the past so one set of results are scored in different ways.

At least our main problem is now solved

Maybe the Setup+GlobalOptions setting to 'launch the competitor editor after adding a new competitor' should be the default setting - hitting 'enter' completes the process, after all.
