All In Race with several classes how publish best in Class

We are about to have a Dinghy event in the club, there will be about 4 classes, but all classes will race the same course under a single start.

The results will be calculated using PY ratings and the overall winner will be calculated in the normal way and published as an Allin race.

However can i also list below the All in Race results the individual classes ranked from best within the class?

Thanks

John

Sorry, I meant to add that i have tried a set up with a Fleet as the main competition name, and classes with set up as scored groups but with the same start time, but i cannot seem to get it to work the way i want??

John

John,

Short answer no. However, if you use the sort effect when

publishing you will be able to sort on the individual classes and
the overall rank. The classes will not have clear separation.

A question is the intention to extract the
individual class results or re-score them? Because
if the latter then you could get difference between one competitor
and another competitor in the same class between ‘All-in fleet’
and ‘class fleet’. I know this can happen as I have experienced
it.

Kind regards,

Huw

Huw,

The intention is not to rescore them within their class, it is just to list them separately, for easier viewing by competitors, but using the “all in race” ranking.

John

You can sort by two columns. Sort by boat type and then by rank and I
think you'll get what you want.

OK, Downloaded the Effect and it seems to do what i am looking for.

However i have one issue with it.

My selected Style is Grey Days, which i have modified to align all cols to the Centre, using this Effect has over ridden that and now all columns are Left Aligned.

I have left a comment on the web page associated with the Effect.

Thank You

John

Hi John - What I believe Art was suggesting was that you score as normal and then click the column header which contains the boat type (whichever column you choose) and then hold the control key down and click the rank column. Then publish the results (don’t rescore again)

Re the TableSorter effect

···

Unfortunately the CSS for the TableSorter is much more complicated than a normal results display The CSS used for TableSorter is at “http://sailwave.com/download/css/sorter.css” if you want to see what is used. You can replace this with your own version by changing the URL in the TableSorter Script.

Jon,

Ref the suggestion by Art, yes understood, however i also need the overall Ranking for the “All in One” and to get both to publish is not possible … ( unless i have separate URL’s) well i do not believe so anyway.

John

The easiest way would be two URL’s but you could combine them into one with an HTML editor
