Opened and ran for me on Linux Mint Maya using Wine 1.4. I was able to open a past series and work with it. Only tested for a couple of minutes.
I can do more extensive testing if you like.

Thanks for that. I would think if you can edit a competitor and you can do a Help - check for latest version without it crashing then it looks as if it would run. I installed an Ubuntu 13.04 with Wine 1.4 last night and it would not run on that. It would start up and you could create a new series but you couldn’t edit the competitors. The problem seems to be with any form that displays a multiline text e.g. Address or Notes or Medical History etc.
According to the Wine Site there is a V1.5 but I could not get it installed on Ubuntu.
I’ve now got it mostly working with Ubuntu - still some changes to make
But very interested if that version works Mint Maya with Wine 1.4
