THIS STEP
----------
- App LE Add C [STEP 2 - ASSIGN/PUBLISH DAY 1 FLIGHT ASSIGNMENTS] - Assign
the day 1 flight assignments (to races Q1 and Q2) and publish so that the
competitors know. Obviously flight reassignments cannot be made while boats
are sailing hence assigning flights in day chunks.
- You need to download Sailwave v1.83 for this step.

PROCEDURE
---------
You can follow the procedure below or download this Sailwave file:-
www.sailwave.com/stuff/addc2.blw
- Sort by the Seed column using a single left-click on the seed column
title. We do this because the slight assignment tool which wel'll run next
operates on competitors in the order currently shown in the main view. So
for initial assignments we'll need to sort by the rank provided by seeding
provided by the class association etc - this is the value we entered into
the seed column previously.
- Run the Tools+AssignRaceFlight tool. Use the SetFlights button to set the
list of flight to Yellow,Blue,Red,Green (or type that list into the text
box). Select the first method (Down/UpQuals), and select Q1 as the race to
apply the flight assignment to. Click "View race-specific flights on
return". Make sure "apply to successive races" is not ticked (we just want
these assignments for this race). Click OK. You'll now see the flight
assignments in the main view.
- Run the tool again and repeat except assign to Q2.
- Sort by sailno column or Q1 (your preference) and publish (results) to get
a print out of the flight assignments for the competitors. When publishing
just choose to publish races "1,2" and only publish the series summary
table. Tick the box to include a dates row. This is what you will
publish:-

- If you don't want the points columns etc, click the columns button on the
toolbar, right-click on rank, total and nett in turn, inhibitng publishing
of these columns. Note however that you'll need to include these columns
for publishing again when publishing real results. Clearly some work can be
done in this area to make it slicker for the user because it's a pain to
keep changing values like this. But at least it can be done... If you
publish with these columns inhibited as described, you'll see this:-
www.sailwave.com/stuff/addc2a.htm
- If you would prefer to group by flight, click on the Q1 column and
publish:-
