In a recent series, results for DNC are showing incorrectly. Set up
for DNC is starters in the series +2, but Sailwave is scoring +8 not
+2. This is happening on all 4 fleets in the series.
A complication which may have affected this is the way I have entered
boats into the series. I entered all boats that might do the series
and then took out the ones that did no races at the end. The reason is
it is a nuisance for the results entry clerk if boats have raced that
have not been entered and the way you have to import from another file
is quite awkward for users who are not very familiar with SW. This way
all sail numbers are covered.
It would be much better if either SW could automatically import from a
'boats entered file' (most of our boats enter for the season) - or if
there could a button under DNC code options for 'points for the place
of no of boats competing (ie starting a race)in a series +N'.
Would appreciate some help with the apparent error and comment on the
change requested.

Simplest way could be to create a fake race - one more than the
number planned - in which all competitors get a BYE declaration. BYE
= 0 points. Mark the race as non-discardable, so it is the same for
everyone [1]. Decrease the number of discards by 1.
Next, use your favourite spreadsheet to create a file with all
competitor details. Include a "Race No" column with the number of
your fake race, and a BYE declaration code. The format is described
in Sailwave Help. Save it as a file of type CSV.
Finally, import the CSV file [2].
Exclude the fake race when publishing [3].
Caution: you'll have to add late entries to the series manually, or
append them to the CSV file and import again.

How to do it
[1] Right click on Race column, click "Edit Race";
click the Edit icon;
check the box "This race is not discardable"
[2] Menu option is File > Import from CSV file > race results ...
[3] If the series has 7 races and the fake is number 8, click "Just
these races" when you publish and enter "1 - 7".
