assign flights

I will organise the RSX youth worlds and tried to setup a trial regatta results using appendix LE adentum C and assign flights.
I did that in 2007 European RSX with success. Now I cannot.

Any ideas of how to it

Does sailwave allow finish clock times to be entered with out using the colon ie : between the hrs, minutes and seconds. In about as many major regattas my club does, I have had one per race, where a ; gets put in place of the : and proceeded to score someone wrong. Am I able to check a box somewhere to allow me to enter the 6 digits with out?

The User guide describes the available format. http://www.abyc.org/upload/Sailwave_ABYC_User_Guide.pdf

Start and finish times can be entered in one of these formats:‐

hhmmss
hhmm
hour:minute:second
hour:minute

dd/mm/yy@time

I agree that that would be a really useful addition, entering the finish
times can be tedious and this would relief some of that stress.

Sailwave does allow you to enter hhmmss without any punctuation between the numbers. As long as you put in six figures, it seems to understand that it’s looking at hh mm ss. Beware, though, that if you only put in four figures, thinking that you are entering mmss, Sailwave sees that simply as a number of seconds – ssss – which can have a big impact on handicap corrected time calculations! (My club has fallen victim to this in the past!)

I think I have the entering part down now. The other issue I have from last weekend, is 2 fleets did a ~10 mile course, and 8 fleets did an 18 mile course. Of course I seem to be in one of the few places that folks like to score Time on Distance vs time on time. Fleet scores them selves are fine. But when I do an overall, they get intermingled, and I do not seem to be able to unmingle them. I can get the course lengths to separate per say in the point part, but time wise, they commingle. What box or is there to do this? if not, then I would assume I would need two files, one for short, and one for longer courses, or more if there is more than one course groups?

Marty

Ranking overall on different courses is pure nonsense…

You can rank overall for fleets sailing the same course, but the results are also non-consistent, wind and sometimes tides are not the same for all.

yiannis,

have you enabled the add c stuff in hte "User Interface" settings
  • by default a lot of little-used optiions are disabled to make
the interface clearer as a whole.
