Australian telstra NBN

Hi Folks,

I would like some feed back from Australian members who are using Telstra NBN as their service provider.

I recently changed to Telstra NBN and then found I could not up load my results.

As this occurred before the certification change I can rule that out.

I can upload via my mobile data plan, but not via anything connected to the NBN.

I have tried both the passive settings.

Telstra/NBN also did some work on the phone lines after I had the initial problem and connected me to my neighbor’s number and vice versa. Still with the same result.

I have had several long discussions with Telstra who claim that Sailwave is broken.

I will be having another discussion with Telstra later in the week and any comments on successful use of Telstra NBN would be useful, or what changes I need to make to make the system work.

Thanking you for your assistance.

Kind regards JohnL.

Hi John - exactly what is happening?

Could you give me some more detail.

Can you test uploading to some other ftp site?

Perhaps I could teamviewer into you PC and have a look if you would like.

Jon

Ki Ken,

Thanks for your prompt reply.

I have a friend who can upload the results on NBN and Optus is his service provider.

I have 3 computers in the house and all 3 I can upload using the Telstra mobile.

When using the WiFi on all 3 I get the message, and the main computer when connected using the Ethernet I get:-

“Version: 2.23.4

Installed: Unknown

···

Date: 14 September 2017

Time: 06:15:26

Cannot connect to sailwave.com

I was using version 2.19.8 when I first encountered the problem.

I think Telstra is the problem.

Kind regards JohnL.

Jon,

Thankyou for your prompt reply.

I get the error message:-

Version: 2.23.4

Installed: Unknown

···

Date: 14 September 2017

Time: 06:15:26

Cannot connect to sailwave.com.

I hope Telstra will fix my phone line this morning Australian time.

Once the phone that problem has been fixed I will then pursue the upload problem.

The system worked perfectly on the copper wire.

I updated my phone plan and changed over to Fibre to the Node, then copper to the house all in the 1 go. This is when the problems started.

I believe the problem is in the supplied technology rather than Sailwave.

I will keep in touch as things progress.

Kind regards JohnL.

Jon,

I have resolved the issue with my uploading results.

After a lot of false starts I manages to turn off a security service supplied by my internet provider. Any new plans after August 2016, which I got with a new plan and a change to NBN, automatically gets Telstra Protect, which is another layer of protection.

I can now upload the results.

Thanking you for your support.

Kind regards JohnL.
