Hi Ian,
It would be interesting to know more about your application and
how it is populating data into Sailwave.
It answer to your question the short answer is yes. Sailwave has
functionality that can be accessed to pass data to another
application and receive data back. This functionality was added to
support the RYA NHC calculations in external mode where data is
passed to Excel and received back from Excel.
I know of someone who has used this functionality with a small
helper application to bi-directionally pass data between a
database and Sailwave. In this case triggering after adding a set
of race results or changes to scoring that Sailwave re-scores the
series.
The functionality described above is not documented but I expect
Jon the current maintainer of Sailwave and the person who added
the functionality will respond to this post when he can. Jon is
catching up on work after being in Latvia for nearly two weeks
scoring the Techno Worlds.
Kind regards,
Huw

Virus-free. www.avast.com
If you are using the Windows Messaging interface it’s 18 for rescore.

Hi Ian,
Sailwave supports data interchange using the Windows Data message https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/desktop/dataxchg/wm-copydata
You can use any application capable of working with this message type.
Features that can be performed are but not limited to
It is also used by the ISAF/World Sailing plugin to send the results to World Sailing and check all the Sailor ID’s against the World Sailing Database.
Richard has also used it for his SailEvent software.
There is currently no way to publish from it although all the results of the rescore are available so you can output your results in your own format or you can publish from Sailwave.
It is a fairly advanced topic and not intended for the non programmer user.
A simple demo written in VB.net is available here https://www.dropbox.com/s/wczt4zgdjoeb9o2/TrySWMessage.zip?dl=1
