Hi Alan
When you have scored the series after each race, look at the drop down ‘Viewing’ menu on the tool bars.
If you select the Finishes (…) option, you will see the times & laps displayed.
As you use SW more, you will find the viewing options very useful.
Also, when you publish your series/race results, it will publish the data in the option which is currently showing on the screen.
On large handicap races, competitors cannot really assess whether their results are right if they are published as race positions or corrected times.
To get competitors to double check the results for me, I select the actual finish times option, sort by that race (lowest actual time first) & then print the results for that race only.
The printout will show finishes in the order that boats actually crossed the line (ie before corrected times).
This is much easier to check as the competitor knows which boats crossed the finish line with them & can also check the number of laps recorded - all areas where we can make mistakes.

Subject: [sailwave] Re: Average Lap Time Scoring
Thanks for all the feedback. I realised of course that there is
a ‘laps’ field that can be used when entering start/finish times or
elapsed times but it wasn’t clear whether this data would be used by
Sailwave to calclate average lap times as, as far as I am aware, this
information isn’t available to display anywhere.
If anyone could give a definitive answer, that would be really useful.
Thanks
Alan

Don’t you also need to edit the scoring system to determine which
rating system you are using???
Or is this automatic when you enter a number of laps

Automatic, as far as I know, as ‘scoring’ is about just that (I think,
but knowing my usual luck, is probably wrong…)
