Hi,
Wonder if I could pick your collective brains for a few minutes.
In a club series we are currently awarding average points to competitors should an error occur with the race management meaning that either times or numbers of laps are not recorded.
As per the definitions in sailwave scoring for the race in question we award average points of all other races that the competitor finishes in the series, by ticking the box that says "Average of (sum of all non-DNC races) + N points".
It has been argued that this is unfair as, in a race with a low turnout of boats, you could easily end up with a score greater than the number of competitors in that race. It has been suggested that we should score it, either as the number of competitors in the race, or your average score, whichever is the lower value. What are anyone elses thoughts on this? I can only find information about awarding average points for the series, nothing about the number of competitors in that race. My personal feeling is that over the length of the series this is fair, although it might throw up the occasional strange result. Does anyone elses club do this?
And more importantly is it possible to force sailwave to add an average score in this way?

Can anyone help with the above?
