Best workflow for season championship from merged NHC series

Hi all,

I’m looking for the recommended Sailwave workflow for a season championship made up of multiple independently scored NHC series.

Our club runs four separate series:

  • Spring

  • Summer

  • Long Harbour

  • Winter

Each series is scored and published independently using RYA NHC.

Our Notice of Race defines the Season Championship as all individual races from those four series (22 races), not the overall series placings.

I’ve successfully merged the four .blw files using Merge Option 1, which works very well.

The remaining issues are:

  1. When I Score Series, Sailwave recalculates the imported races using NHC. Ideally I’d like the imported race points to remain exactly as published and only calculate championship totals/discards. Is this possible? Was thinking maybe I will need to export the merged races, then import them into a fresh series as a CSV to strip out all result data other then scored points?

  2. We also have two different types of DNC:

  • A competitor who entered a series but did not compete in a race keeps the original series DNC (for example 16 points if there were 15 entries).

  • A competitor who did not enter that series at all (because they joined later in the season) should receive a Championship DNC (current championship fleet + 1) for those earlier races.

Has anyone implemented a season championship like this?

Is there a recommended Sailwave workflow for preserving imported race points and distinguishing between these two DNC situations?
