Beta 2.6.0 - Translations

Colin,

Saw and tried the newest beta - 2.6.0. This seems like a nice simple solution to the translation problem.

One thing not mentioned in the documentation: For the column headings, most can be changed in the main view of Sailwave so the ones included here are only those that cannot be changed in that way (at least I think that's right). [This would presumably help someone who is trying to do the complete translation of their results pages.]

I note that "Fleet" in summarytitle and racetitle is not included as changeable at this time. I think that might be the only one that needs adding.

One thought for when you do the summary and race captions. It is possible to add HTML codes into the "results.htm" file with the result that what is displayed can be customized with hard-coded styles. It occurred to me that it would also be dead-simple to include a span element right in your "results.htm" template (or in any caption definitions you might do). It can be done using single quotes (') for the class value (which is supported) but it would be nice if one could use the preferred double quotes ("). In Excel macros it is easy to get a double quote inside a text string simply by using two in a row (""). It would be nice if something like that were possible here. Just a thought you might consider.

Hi Art,

"Fleet" is generated from the column name - i.e. if you scored

by Division it would say “Division” . You are correct
that I forgot to document the competitor field name titles forming
from the columns - I’ll tweak. I also want to tweak it so that
the string.set() calls are not necessary and factory defaults
used.

  Noted ideas. Thanks.

PS: some may wonder what I'm doing having retied form Sailwave :)

Jon is driving - I’m helping as and when I can. Publishing is
somehting I have an interest in and Jon is more interested in the
scoring itself, so it makes sense I help with publishing…
