.blw file sizes

Over the last month or so I’ve noticed that my results file sizes are getting stupidly large (e.g 16MB for about 50 competitors, of which 10 have competed in one race of a ten race series) :-&
Being lazy, I tend to copy and edit previous series: might this be an issue?
(Running Ver 2.02 Build 4 under Windows 2k Pro).
Thanks for any useful ideas!
