Broadband in Auz

Hi all,

Does anybody know a broadband prover in Auz that does not impose download
limits...? Perth area if that makes a difference. My sister is saying
she's getting hit by fairly low download limits and can't find an
alternative to telstra/bigpond...

Thanks.

Regards,
Colin

I use iiNet. I'm on a 20Gb broadband2 plan. The speed is incredible and the limit should be high enough to keep the cost down.

Hi Colin,

I have tried to import this file into a new Sailwave-file. I have started a
fresh 1.92 on a new computer (WinXP). Everything goes right except for R1 to
R6 that doesn't show up.

I still haven't found the best way to handle csv-files in later versions. It
worket before...

Hi Anders

Had a quick look at your csv file with the following comments

IMPORTING COMPETITORS
Follow the menu path for File<import from csv file<competitors...
When mapping, set all actual race data to IGNORE
This will import your competitors
I presume that you got this far

IMPORTING RACE DATA
(never tried to import series summary but see below)
It is important to remember that whilst a series will list race results by column, importing the
data requires the race results to be in rows. So:
Your csv file should have the following columns
- Race number
- Sail number (or other identity)
- Position (numeric)
- Code (Alpha re DNF etc)

I usually create a separate csv file for each race (KISS!) but I think you can import more than one
race as follows
r1 123 1
r1 456 2
r1 789 3
r2 456 1
r2 123 2
r2 789 DNF

Don't think it matters if rows are in race order or sail order
Use the same File menu but select import race results instead of competitors

PS Sail number 3 in your file has a zero in race 1 and 3 in column O.
Suspect SW might not like the zero

See how you get on with this & if necessary I will try & do a full import from your file
Keep persevering, it's so easy when you know how ;-)))

I have also attached a file which I lifted from FAQs re importing

Regards
Ralph

Hi Martin,

this is very strange, I did do it as you mentioned below… with no succes. It worked before in 1.5x versions. Sailwave is 1.92 on my laptop.

But on the other hand I have tryed to import Race per Race basis as Ralph mentioned earlier today, with great succes!! Except that codes is not alowed.

Hi!

Is there a difference between 1.91 Build2 and 1.92?

Think Colin mentioned something about it, like : On the WEB there is version 1.92, but “autodownload” in SW gives you 1.91 build 2.

Anyway, ther is something odd here. Colin needs to look at it.

regards,

Martin

A guess from my side is that there are changes in the versions that affect the results, specially if you install fresh releases. And it does give differences if you are using localized versions of Windows/Office.

Someone have to get deep into this…

Hi Anders
Been have some trouble with Yahoo bouncing my emails - don't know
why :frowning:
Just picked this up.

When you say that "codes not allowed" you need to move the codes into
a separate column in your csv file.
When mapping your import columns, the code column needs to be mapped
to the code field & the position (or whatever) column against the
place field
