Bug? in "Publish to a web page and upload using FTP"

17 August 1.58 beta (I don't know about earlier versions), the ftp
destination is not saved for each series file. It seems to be saved
program-wide.

I think other settings in the Publishing destination seem to stick
with each series file.

Previous bugs I have reported on (Save As, unscore failure, and
Publish notes CRLF) are all fixed by this beta.

Thanks Colin,
Chip

Hi Chip,

17 August 1.58 beta (I don't know about earlier versions), the ftp
destination is not saved for each series file. It seems to be saved
program-wide.

This is deliberate. Users were complaining that the information saved in
the series file was a security breach. The information is now saved in a
system-wide ini file and encrypted as well, since ini files are text.

I can see saving the ftp login name and password globally in the
encrypted .ini file, but would saving the ftp file destination name
in each series file be considered a security breach?

Thanks,
Chip
