Hi Colon,
I love the fact that Sailwave provides a means for publishing event and sponsor burgees with a document, but think its a little cumbersome to use, leaves you with a broken picture if you don't include an image and doesn't work if you publish to a temp file for word, excel etc. It seems to me that all of these could be fixed by including an images folder in the Sailwave folder that the user puts all the images to be used for publishing with Sailwave. In the series dialog box the users simply puts the name of the image in that folder to be used in the published results (or other document) with no other path information.
When the sailwave publishes a document, it would create an images folder (if needed) in the same folder that the document is being saved to and copies the appropriate images to the new folder. The path for the image is then adjusted it include " images\" .
When the user publishes to Excel, Word, etc Sailwave would do the same thing to a temp folder (perhaps $images).
When the user puts a full path name in the burgee field , sailwave would treat it as it currently does, so the user has the flexibility to use burgee from a distant location and it is backward compatible with current series.
When the user enters nothing in the burgee field sailwave would provide a small, empty, transparent gif so you don't get a broken image symbol.
Off course the user now has to upload not only the document file but the images folder also.
This is simply one man's opinion and maybe everyone's happy with it as is or maybe another user has a better idea.
Thanks for listening
