Calculation of corrected time giving order of results

I am new to Sailwave and have compared corrected time done by sailwave
to the RYA

example Blaze py 1047 elapsed time 45:08 laps 3 RYA corrected 43:06
Solo py 1155 elapsed time 49:57 laps 3 RYA corrected 43:15
Laser II py 1035 elapsed time 44:50 laps 3 RYA corrected 43:19

Result, 1st Blaze, 2nd Solo, 3rd Laser II

Sailwave gives order of finish 1st Solo (1:11:32), 2nd Laser II
(1:11:40) 3rd Blaze (1:11:46)

Can anyone explain why Sailwave gives a different order of result to
the RYA calculation off their website. Also the programme we also use
at Bala SC.

Dave
You need to tell the program that you are using PY.
Click on 'Scoring Systems' and edit the one you are using - click on
the Rating tab and select the scheme you want.
Hope this helps.

Have you set the appropriate handicap system?

Hi Dave

In case it's not obvious here's a step-by-step checklist for Sailwave
to use PY -

1 download the PY rating file from http://www.sailwave.com/ascii/
2005-DinghiesRYA.csv into your Ratings folder (usually C:\Program
Files\Sailwave\Ratings)

2 update Portsmouth Numbers to 2008 values and add new dinghy
classes as required (use your spreadsheet and remember to save in csv
format)

3 Click the [Scoring Systems] button, then Edit; select the button
for "RYA Portsmouth" system AND "set competitor ratings from rating
files before scoring"

4 Click the [Sail num wizard] button to enter competitor and elapsed/
finish time details

5 Click the [Score Series] button (or Rescore)

Sailwave will then give correct results. Hope that helps.
