Calculation of scores for ZFP and exclusion of sailors in big events.

Hi,

we have a rather complicated series:

Two "big events" (four fleets meet in round robin of two starts) and
two "normal" events.

When we merge the results from these events the ZFP calculation seems
to go bananas: The score is no way near the what I would expect. I
would expect something in the vicinity of:
(r * 2 -1)*1.2
where r is the original rank.
Right now I enter the score for the ZFP by hand to match this rule.

Furthermore, we have to exclude certain sailors. When the sailors are
excluded ideally only the sailors in the same start should have their
ranks altered, but all the sailors with worse rank are modified.
Currently we do not have the fleet information maintained in Sailwave,
but if we had, would it be possible, to use this rule? Furthermore,
would it be possible to take into account different fleets and starts
for the two big events?

All in all, I would appreciate any tips you may have regarding the
handling of this series.

Best regards,
Søren Hattel

Hi Sren,

It's difficult to give you specific answers without more details. Can you
show us the SIs for example. I having trouble seeing how you can discard
after merging lots of small starts and then big fleets because the big fleet
results will be more points....

Regards,
Colin
