Capabilities of version 1.95

All

I need to know if either 1.94 (or the new 1.95) can do calculations
for personal handicap adjustment along the lines of:

(ROUNDUP((p-s),0.1)/500)+0.002

Points
(((s/2)-p)*0.1)/50

Whereby p=placing on corrected time
s=starters on the day

I don't seem to be getting through to the correct person in order to
obtain the new version, however if Sailwave can do this for the TSCQ
then we can stop looking into writing our own VB script for our
calculations.
The points are not such a problem but I can't seem to get the ratings
to update in any fashion which makes sense to our current formula.

Thanks

Linsay,

Sory for the delay in responding, been busy getting ready to act as
results service for the RYA Sail for Gold Regatta, which where I am
as I type this!

Sailwave 1.95 can adjust ratings but I am not sure if it can do it
in the way that you have given :frowning: I will look into it and get back
to you.

Kind regards,
Huw

Huw,

Thanks for looking into it and sorry to seem pushy but we have our
next meeting this Tuesday Night and we've had no results posted this
season waiting to decide which way we are going to go.
The troops are getting restless!

Again thanks.

Linsay,

Hi, I will see what I can fit in today  First can you clarify
something for me from your original posting. You posted two
formulae; are thes covering two things the first PH adjustment and
the second the points to be scored by a competitor in a race after
application of the rating for that race?

If the second formula is a points scoring formula this can be
entered in on the Race Scoring tab when you have clicked the Scoring
SYstem button on the tool bar. Note - this is for a Custom Low point
scoring system. If it is a Custom High Point System then you will
need to set to enable Advanced settings by clicking the UI button
the Toolbar. This all applies to Sailwave Build 1.95.

I will respond later today regarding PH.

Kind regards,
Huw

Linsay,

Following-up my earlier message.

I have now had alook at the Tools | Assign Personal Handicap
facility in Sailwave 1.95 Build 3 and unfortunately currently the
parameters it will accept are very limited and will not allow the
formula you posted :frowning: However I have been speaking with Colin and
he thinks that it would not take much to extend the parameters
available for use in custom formulae - no promises of providing such
functionality at present, but he may be able to take a look soon.
Colin is feeling rather under the weather at the moment.

Kind regards,
Huw
