This weekend I had to change a competitor result from DNF to position 27 in Race 2 out of a series of 7 races. I found that after scoring again I had errors on other positions and had to change several others, both before and after the subject to get it right. I expected SW to recalculate the results automatically, but it did not work very well.
The affected boat changed from DNF was 27th out of 82.
BTW I used 'score' not 'rescore'

In my experience, which is only a couple of years with Sailwave, you cannot just give a competitor a position in the middle of a set of results because there will already be a 27th. You should change everybody after them. If you had entered times, handicaps (and laps if applicable) then it would have calculated the results correctly.
In the first set of results above I enter just the finishing position for the individual events like the second set of results.

What we do is add the boat in last place and then use the Rearrange Recorded Places.
