Chinese Taipei

Hello everyone,

just running a national chinese championships and been asked to put Chinese Taipei (TAI) for some of the competitors. They are actually Taiwanese but that’s a no go in china for known reasons.

Is there any way to add nationality flags to sailwave that are not in the list ?

I also had an issue with Cabo Verde – which is not a World Sailing Member and therefore no flag…

Thanks – would be a great help in the next two days !

Cheers,

Markus

Hi Markus,

Hopefully Colin is monitoring these messages as he is the only

person currently able to add additional flags. It would be helpful
if you could supply GIF images of the flags you would like to use
and a three letter acronym for both countries. Whoops spotted you
gave one for Chinese Taipei of TAI.

Kind regards,

Huw

Hi Markus,

I started replying earlier but then had some phone calls and emails

In the Series properties you can specify where the flags come from

So as long as you have somewhere you can put them you can add or modify any that you wish.

If you have matching large and small flags that you think should be on the Sailwave server - let me have a copy and I’ll add them.

But basically you can host the flags anywhere and just change the link in the series properties

Hi all,

thanks for the tip with adding an own flag collection – problem is that most of the collections on the web use 2 letter codes instead of the World Sailing 3 letter codes. At least I havent found a complete one…

I could go and rename all the countries to three letter – but probably the ones in question could be added to sailwave for general use ?

I am looking for Taipei (TAI) and Cape Verde (CPV) – flags attached.

Thanks all !

Hi Jon,

I put CPV in the nationality field and when I printed I got a placeholder for no file… sorry if I got that wrong but I have pretty much the latest version of sailwave so it should be ok…

also I don’t have CPV (nor CBV) in the dropdown menu – what is the three letter code used ?

did the path to the flags change ? what is the latest one ? I have http://www.sailwave.com/flags/small/*.jpg

Hi Markus,

I just created the small and big flags for CPV but when I went to put them on the Sailwave site - They are already there.

What gave you the impression that they are not there?

Having looked at you attachments, I think the Taipei Olympic flag is already in Sailwave bit with code TPE not TAI. Just done a quick check and it looks very similar to the one you supplied.

Jon will I am sure pick up the Cape Verde and add.

Hi all,

thanks for the tip with adding an own flag collection – problem is that most of the collections on the web use 2 letter codes instead of the World Sailing 3 letter codes. At least I havent found a complete one…

I could go and rename all the countries to three letter – but probably the ones in question could be added to sailwave for general use ?

I am looking for Taipei (TAI) and Cape Verde (CPV) – flags attached.

Thanks all !

Hopefully Colin is monitoring these messages as he is the only person currently able to add additional flags. It would be helpful if you could supply GIF images of the flags you would like to use and a three letter acronym for both countries. Whoops spotted you gave one for Chinese Taipei of TAI.

Kind regards,

Is there any way to add nationality flags to sailwave that are not in the list ?

I also had an issue with Cabo Verde – which is not a World Sailing Member and therefore no flag…

Thanks – would be a great help in the next two days !

Hi Markus,

Yes grab the 2.22 the details are on this forum. Although if you manually enter CPV it should still work

2.22 has some nice features for highlighting 1st 2nd 3rd etc

Perfect – installed 2.22 and it has TPE in the list (with working flag) and CBV – the flag file name is CPV though so it only works with manually entering CPV

But its working

Thanks a lot !
