I have a reasonable working knowledge of Sailwave but have a specific question.
We have a long series of 10 races plus 5 area events
An individual needs to count the best of 4 events but can only count 1 of the area results as part of his 4 ( not compulsory to sail any of the areas or can do all 5)
Can someone out there explain how to set this up please??

Hi John,
It might be possible to do this using the concept of 'Q-series'
and ‘F-series’, where non-area events are considered ‘Q-series’
and area events considered ‘F-series’. This is a quick thought
/idea without any testing, so needs testing to see if will work.
You will need to switch on 'Appendix LE Addendum C' functionality
in Setup | User interface. The overall series discard is set on
Series scoring tab of Scoring system, the ‘F-series’ / Area Events
discards will be set on the Appendix LE tab in scoring system.
The overall discards profile would I think be something like:
0,0,0,0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11
That is one discard after 5 races in total, 2 after 6 races etc.
[I have assumed the area events are not all at the end they are
mixed up between the ‘normal’ events].
The discard profile for the 'F-series' / Area Events will be
something like in this image [also included as an attachment in
case does not display] I think:
