As part of the RYA National Hornet Championships we run a combination
series to encourage exchange of ideas / tips etc. throughout the
fleet and help those who maybe new to the class. We do this by paring
1st / last place 2nd / 2nd to last etc. from the first race of the
championships and then taking the Teams scores across the week to
establish the winning team. Is it possible to combine the scores of
two boats in this way ? I am quite happy to set up the teams manually.

There is no way to automate any of that in Sailwave as it stands.
You would have to create the teams as competitors in a second fleet and
enter their combined results manually.
When is the championship?

Thanks for the reply. Championship is next week at Royal Norfolk and Suffolk Yacht Club Lowestoft. I will be using Sailwave for the main results and will also have a go at your suggested manual approach for now. It would be nice to be able to pool results into teams to make this easier for next year, similar requirements must come up for team prizes etc. at big events like The Bloody Mary.
