Combine several championships in one, respecting the scores and faults of each championship

Please, if someone can help me, I want to create an Optimist RANKING, combining several championships into one, using the name of the helmsman as an index. I tried to do with the option “MERGE IN ANOTHER …” but at the time of executing the “rescore” does not respect the score for fouls of each helmsman in each championship that makes up the combined series. For example:

Let's assume that the combined is 3 championships:

 

- In the championship 1, 50 helmsmen participated

- In the championship 2, 40 participated

- In the championship 3, 45 participated

 

In this way, the score of DNF, DNS, DSQ, etc, (as opposed to the DNC) should be the following:

 

Championship 1: 51pts.

Championship 2: 41 pts.

Championship 3: 45 pts.

 

That is to say that if a helmsman A did not finish a regatta in championship 2 the system should compute DNF 41pts. in that race. Similarly, if a B helmsman was disqualified in Championship 3, he should have 45 pts in that race.

 

But the system when doing the combination of championships assigns the scores of these faults assuming the number of helmsmen resulting from the combination of the 3 championships, in this example it assumes 51pts. for all those with a DNF, DSQ, DNC, etc ...

 

Please help them if you know any way to correct this in the SAILWAVE system to prepare a RANKING

Hi Liza,

  Great to hear that Sailwave is being used in Peru. By default

Sailwave is scoring correctly for the combined results, i.e .
one more than the number of competitors in the series which I am
assuming is 50 the number of competitors in Championship 1.

The scoring method for DNF, DNS, DSQ etc . except DNC,
which I am assuming is still wanted as maximum number of boats in
series +1, could be changed to get what is wanted I think. But it
would be helpful to see a copy of the Sailwave file and also the
NoR, SI’s and/or rules covering the combined results of the 3
championships, preferably in English as my Spanish only amounts to
a very few words.

  The way of changing how points are allocated to scoring codes is

changed by clicking ‘Scoring system’ on the tool bar and then
selecting the ‘Scoring Codes’ tab.

Hi Giovanni,

If you go the to scoring system - Scoring codes there is a hand at the bottom.

Click this and then select the long series

image.png

Now rescore and let us know if that works for you.

You can manually adjust scoring codes and create new ones if required.
