Last weekend we had a regatta for Radials and Laser on a
trapezoid course. The fleets would have
a small overlap by the time they finished. On the first day, we ran 3 races for each
fleet and Sailwave separated the fleets without any problems. On the second day we ran three Laser races
and two Radial races. On the third day,
the first race of the day was the 7th Laser race and 6th
Radial race and they finished overlapped.
Is there a way that Sailwave can assign the results to the right race
numbers without having manually to filter the fleets?
What I do in a situation like this, is basically say that the Radials did not race in Race 6 and l label R7 as R7 Day 3 so everyone is clear that R7 is the first race of Day 3. As long as no Radials raced in Race 6 (which they didn’t) then Sailwave will know that race didn’t exist for them and will not be counted against the discards.
It will not even publish a blank column in the fleet series results so counting the races is easy
