Configuration - Medal Race

Dear Friends,

In an event with a medal race at the 11th race, only the 10 first participate on them. I marked the option of medal race at the Scoring System and at the race edit page sort the 10 first boat to participate. It calculated perfectly, but the program is also calculating the boats after the 10^th place as DNC and putting the score doubled, even if it is not marked to score non-medalists at the Medal Race page at the scoring system table.

How can I configure the sailwave in an event with medal race, not to score the boats after the 10^th position. Example below.

Hi Walter,

I answered a similar question for someone in Brazil a few days ago here is a copy of my reply. The details refer to his sample and not yours but I think it is the same.

If you have a medal race and there are competitors that are not racing but you want to show them in the same results

then you need to enter them with a code typically “-” which has a value of 0

Have a look at these results and the 49er (f) tab

http://www.skandiasailforgoldregatta.co.uk/results/index12.html

setup a new scoring code of “-” and assign it a value of 0

For Medal races you need to create a DNFM and a DNCM codes with the values that you want to use for the Medal race and use these codes for the Medal competitors. Looking at the your 49er results it is using 14 for DNF where as I think it should be 12 i.e (5 + 1) * 2

I think this approach should fix all your problems

Hi Jon,

I did what you explained below, and it worked.

Now I have on more challenge: when I create a DNCM and OCSM code and want that it appers at the plubishing as DNC and OCS (for that I put in the format DNC and OCS – but the “C” Sailwave understand it as a code and it appears DNDNCM and OOCSS respectively. How can I write so Sailwave understands as DNC and OCS.

Another question, at the 49er (F) Medal Race result from Weymouth the points are under the Code, how can I do this?

Hi Walter,

You need to create the codes something similar to the screen shot below

Then use DNCM or OCSM when you enter these codes for medalists.
