Confusion over RDG Points set by Protest Committee

Hello,

we have a situation with a One Design League race and a boat has been protested and lost, the penalty is stated as 2 place(point) penalty.

I have selected the RDG code Fixed Penalty and i have modified the settings to :-

Scored points + N points

I have set the value to 2

In the Properties page i have de selected the last option ie Other boats positions are now changed.

However when i rescore the league i get the boat in question just receiving the 2 points and she was already 3rd in the results after scoring so she should have had 5 points and slipped in the league results however the boat is now tied 2nd and the other boats have changed points… not what i was expecting…

What am i doing wrong??

John

Hi John,

If you care to let me have a look at the Sailwave file I will

investigate,

FYI - personally I would not have used RDG as it may be needed

for other protest committee decision. I would have used the code
DPI because it gives a better indication of the penalty. The boat
in question has not been given redress but penalised. Just my two
cents.

I look forward to being able to solve your problem.

Kind regards,

Huw
