Corrected Times Again

Hi

Problem:
I have one passage race consisting of three legs. The boats can start
each leg in their own time. I wish to display the accumulated
corrected times.

What I have done:
New Series
4 races
Scoring system - rating system RYA Portsmouth.
Add competitors boat class, sail number, helm and PY number.

Leg 1
Add random start times 10:00ish and finishes say 11:00ish for all
competitors
Finishes will be recorded as elapsed times
Tick dicard me first box
Score series and view corrected times for leg 1

Leg 2
Ditto leg 1 but starts 12:00ish and finishes 13:00ish.

Leg 3
Ditto leg 1 but starts 14:00ish and finishes 15:00ish

Race 4
Rename dummy race overall
Tick accumulate elapsed time and enter 1,2,3
Discard profile 0,0,0,3
Score series

Race 4 column remains grayed out always
How do I display the accummulated corrected times?

Thanks

Steve

Hi

Is the answer to my problem that sailwave will not display the
accumulated corrected times. That is the sum of the corrected times
for legs 1, 2 and 3.

Thanks

Steve

Hi!

Think this has been on the forum just some days ago…

Check “Publish individual Race tables” and also the Options folder, while publishing.

You’ll need to have a late version. I have 1.94 B 23.

Hi Steve,

What you have done sounds correct, but to see the corrected times in the
overall series summary you need to select Corrected Times from the droop
down box. Does that change things? If you're still having problems send
me the sailwave series and explain what you are attempting WRT output. i.e.
summarising everything in the overall series summary or shoing points in teh
series summary and allowing the corrected times to be shown in the race
tables.

Colin

Hi Martin and Colin

Thanks for yor responses

I must be doing someting wrong or misunderstanding what to do as I am
still unable to get the accumulated corrected times.

Attached is my series, kept very simple with just 2 legs with R3 for
the accumulation of R1 and R2. I am using version 1.94 B23.

The passage race is about 7 miles down river, around a bouy and back.
On route is a small car ferry, pub and railway bridge. The clock is
stopped as a boat enters this area and is restarted when they have
successfully passed the hazards. Hence there legs. There may be an
advantage in rounding the bouy as the tide turns so boats will judge
there own departure times to suit. I wish the display the accumulated
corrected times (R!+R2+R3) and positions 1st, 2nd ect. Sailwave looks
like it is an excellent programs for this but I am stuck on the last step.

The race is this saturday coming so any help would be appriaciated

Thanks

Steve

Hi Stephen,

This is a bug I thought I had fixed. You are doing nothing wrong - sorry
about the fair loss! The work-wround is this: Set one of the results in R3
to DNC (say - anything in fact). Now score the series. It should be OK.
View "Elapsed times" in the results cells to check. When publishing,
include race tables and use the options tab to include corrected etc etc.
I'll fix it.

Hi Colin,

Malcolm Osborne emailed me and suggested that instead of Firefox as the web browser I use Internet Explorer instead. I did and it I was able to print the whole results as usual. You’re right, it’s not Sailwave but Firefox.

Also thanks for the information on importing Sailwave files to Excel.

Attachment added this time, I think!

Thanks

Steve

Hi Steve,

What you have done sounds correct, but to see the corrected times in the
overall series summary you need to select Corrected Times from the droop
down box. Does that change things? If you’re still having

problems send

me the sailwave series and explain what you are attempting WRT

output. i.e.

summarising everything in the overall series summary or shoing

points in teh

series summary and allowing the corrected times to be shown in the race
tables.

Subject: [sailwave] Corrected Times Again

Hi

Problem:
I have one passage race consisting of three legs. The boats can start
each leg in their own time. I wish to display the accumulated
corrected times.

What I have done:
New Series
4 races
Scoring system - rating system RYA Portsmouth.
Add competitors boat class, sail number, helm and PY number.

Leg 1
Add random start times 10:00ish and finishes say 11:00ish for all
competitors
Finishes will be recorded as elapsed times
Tick dicard me first box
Score series and view corrected times for leg 1

Leg 2
Ditto leg 1 but starts 12:00ish and finishes 13:00ish.

Leg 3
Ditto leg 1 but starts 14:00ish and finishes 15:00ish

Race 4
Rename dummy race overall
Tick accumulate elapsed time and enter 1,2,3
Discard profile 0,0,0,3
Score series

Race 4 column remains grayed out always
How do I display the accummulated corrected times?

Thanks

Steve
