Creating Progressive Personal Handicaps

Continuing the discussion from Sailwave Calculated Personal Handicaps:

Hi Jon, I’ve now added a series of real data to my results file and I’m clearly missing something towards the end of the set-up. I have attached my data file that has the original results along with a second personal handicap file for the same series of data.

Solo FAL = Solo Fleet first across the line
Solo PH = Solo Fleet personal handicaps

I am hoping that once I get the template set-up I can just copy paste for future events.

Many thanks for your assistance with this.
Patrick

Hi Patrick,

What do you mean “I’m clearly missing something”?

I have so far not spotted any issue with PH Results Sailwave file, at least so far

Kind regards,
Huw

Hi Huw,

Many thanks for coming back so quickly. I’ve just found the ‘view button’ to show ratings and as noted these have changed across the series. Good news if they look okay for you.

I am struggling to publish so I can review the final results…? It just provides the headings.

Thanks,
Patrick

Hi Patrick,
I have just opened your PH file and you have not checked the box on the first publishing window to publish the overall series and / or the individual race results.

  • Highlighted area 1 publishes overall series results
  • Highlighted area 2 published individual race results

If you click the options tabs there are options available for including additional information overall series results and individual race results.

Hi Patrick,

The PH Results look good
I’ve published them to here https://sailwave.com/results/SoloTest.htm so that you can see them
And attached my modified file

I added some starts and clicked the button to publish all sailed races in the Series
Then added a couple of effects to make it more attractive and interactive

Any questions let me know

Jon

Thanks Huw - rookie error…!

One final question if I may - if I want to save this as a blank template so that the set-up for progressive handicaps remains in place what is the best way to do this.

Many thanks again.
Patrick

Many thanks Jon,

That’s excellent.

Kind regards,
Patrick
