Importing CSV file update
Couple of tips.
All fields that are not used in the CSV imported file must be marked Ignore or be mapped to a sailwave field. I had it hang up if I did not map every field. (It seems to me like this was the way Sailwave handled imports once upon a time then it changed to not needing to map every field Now its back to needing all info mapped.)
To map a field the pointer is two positions off as Martin noted. (not a big deal)
Colin or anyone
Not sure how to use the field Helmphoto or how you might access it.
I assume the little box in the contact screen will hold the pictures. Just now sure how you put something in there.
Is there an option that the helm and crew names link to the pics when results or competitors are online.
Right now the Helm name will link to the http\\address you type into the helm website address field. (Works well) How would the picture link work?
Finally, one more field request. Membership numbers... The US is huge... the National sailing authority requires membership... your Local sailing authority requires another. One additional field in the contact screen would be handy.
Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark
Just carried about a quick test & have no problem assigning fields
Using 1.94b23
The displayed data looks a bit weird but when I score the series it is OK
I am using my AddC data so not sure if this makes any difference, but doubt it
If you continue to have a problem, attach your file(s) & I will have a look for you
Regards
Ralph

Subject: [sailwave] bug with importing csv competotor files?
Hi All
Anyone else having trouble importing a csv file of competitors with the
latest version of sailwave?
I haven't been able to assign a sailwave field to a csv field.
If I get by that step... I get into an endless loop.
I haven't tested all of the options thoroughly yet but it doesn't seem to be
working as in the past.
thanks
Mark

Hi!
I 've experienced this bug !
When your importing and wants to map csv-coloumns, you can select "map competitor field". It don't map to the fields you select. It looks like you have to select two positions down at the bottom of the list, and one position down at the beginning of the list.....

Martin's reply has made me realise that my reply (works OK) was based upon
mapping fields manually, not using the button to map automatically

Hi
Problem:
I have one passage race consisting of three legs. The boats can start
each leg in their own time. I wish to display the accumulated
corrected times.
What I have done:
New Series
4 races
Scoring system - rating system RYA Portsmouth.
Add competitors boat class, sail number, helm and PY number.
Leg 1
Add random start times 10:00ish and finishes say 11:00ish for all
competitors
Finishes will be recorded as elapsed times
Tick dicard me first box
Score series and view corrected times for leg 1
Leg 2
Ditto leg 1 but starts 12:00ish and finishes 13:00ish.
Leg 3
Ditto leg 1 but starts 14:00ish and finishes 15:00ish
Race 4
Rename dummy race overall
Tick accumulate elapsed time and enter 1,2,3
Discard profile 0,0,0,3
Score series
Race 4 column remains grayed out always
How do I display the accummulated corrected times?
Thanks
Steve
