Cut and Past - Result to another (Duplicate) competitor

When our results get entered / merged (for combined series results) it is not unusual for us to end up with duplicate competitors, We get Phils and Philips, changes of Class and (we allow that is a series) changes of sail number etc.

To resolve these duplicates we reenter (duplicate the results) across to the correct competitor and then delete the unwanted competitor.

It is already possible to Copy and Paste race codes between competitors ion main series table but not race results eg (Place Time / laps start end times.)

At present I open the race result from duplicate competitor copy then open the other competitor result and paste result remembering land typing las if required. (I then re-scores to make sure I have a tied result in case I need to change rating (race rating if class changed) or more likely I’ve forgotten the Laps! Then I delete the un-wanted competitor.

It would be really useful if it was possible to Cut and Paste results on the main table as well as race codes.

Thank you for the comments - I will have a look to see what is possible when I have a few hours free, although I don’t think it will be an easy change, as just adding the copy and paste of the codes was not easy, and there is a lot more involved with copying and pasting the full result.

If it’s possible, it would be better to change the matching criteria when you are merging. Instead of using Name and Fleet, just use Name on the selection

If this is for Yachts and not dinghies, then I presume you don’t use Helm age, so you could put some unique identifier in that field
