Default DNC Code

I'm new to sailwave and am trying to set it up for a regular Sunday
Series, 3 races each Sunday, but 18 races required to qualify. The
whole fleet does not sail each week, so for those who do not sail, is
it possible to set an alternative to the DNC code for competitors who
have not sailed a particular race?

Ideally I would like to leave the entry blank for a competitor who
doesn't sail a race. Is this possible?

Hi Craig,

Not having a score for a competitor in a race is non-standard (presumably
your SIs cover it) but you could do something like this: edit the DNC code
in the properties to make it score 0 points and make it not discardable,
enter a format of just the '-' character say. That might get you there but
personally I prefer to ignore qualifying and just use a huge value for DNC -
which acheives the same thing w/o complications.

I think you have missed the point.

It may not have been the value that was a problem, but sailwave printing DNC.

The value is probably covered by the rules or the long series rules.

If you had a code that was say a . (period) you would not see it and the DNC would be hidden.

OK, You can do that by changing the DNC format to a period (say) - the way any code is displayed can be independent of its ‘native’ string.
