I don't have the solution, but I'm sure Colin will sooner or later....
Anyway, when I choosed ragatta software my only unalterable
demand was import/export possabilities....
So, in a 100+ fleet race, why not export to Excel, delete
unwanted results, then import.....
Works, but is not THE solution...

Thanks Hugh...
However the problem that we encountered in both 1.57 and 1.58, does not
occur in 1.56.
In V1.56/7/8, when using the wizard to enter results for a race
in which one
fleet did not sail, Sailwave leaves the results for the fleet
that did not
sail blank. This is correct... If a scorer accidentally enters
a result for
one boat in the fleet that did not sail and scores the race,
Sailwave scores
the remaining boats in the fleet that did not sail DNC. This is also
correct.
To correct the problem you need to clear the results for
selected fleet for
selected race. Sailwave does not have such an option, the choices are...
Clear results for selected race
Clear results for all races
Clear results for selected competitor (Clears all races)
Clear results for excluded competitor
The only way to clear the results is to manually edit each
result. When you
set them to blank and rescore. V1.56 correctly leavses the
results blank and
ignores the race for that fleet. V1.57 and V1.58 change the
competitors to
DNC and scores accordingly. Two ways exist to get round the
problem. Delete
the race and reenter all the results, not acceptable in 100+
boat regattas,
or use a scoring code of FDR (Fleer Didnot Race) with points
set to zero.
Neither solution is acceptable, so we will continue to use
V1.56 until it is
fixed.

Colin and group members,
I answered I hope this question for Hugh in a private email, but I now
include for Colin and others my findings.
"Hugh,
I have taken a look at your file in Sailwave 1.58 and I have
attached a 1.58
version of the file with the modifications I have made. The
modifications
do I think what you wanted. Sorry it is in v1.58 but I have
had problems in
the past when I have switched versions especially backwards.
I have also attached an HTML page of the overall results so you
can quickly
see the results
The things I did:-
1.. I have included a class and sail number for everyone,
the sail number
is the persons initials
2.. I cleared the results for each GP helm & crew
3.. I re-entered the GP results using the SAIL NUMBER WIZARD
4.. Rescored the fleets
I an guessing that you were not using the Sail Number Wizard to enter
results because you had no sail numbers entered and were
therefore entering
the results for each competitor individually by clicking in the
appropriate
cell. FYI - Sailwave treats DNC codes entered by hand
differently to those
entered automatically by Sailwave when scoring the overall
results. Those
entered by hand are not overwritten by Sailwave when
recalculating series
scores, so I strongly recommend that you leave DNC code to Sailwave
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,"

Hi Hugh,
If that's happening, it's a bug in 1.57. Cna you try the 1.58 beta
(which
is much better in many respects). If that doesn't help, send me the
series
and I'll take alook.
Regards,
Colin J
