Our local club runs a “Fall Series” composed of one long distance race and three windward/leeward races.
The winner of the series is the boat with the lowest combined score from all four races.
But…
The distance race is scored PHRF Time on Time while the W/L races are Time on Distance
and
There are two boats in the fleet with a local rating adjustment such that for windward/leeward courses they have one PHRF rating while for all other races they have another PHRF rating.
Question: Is there a way in Sailwave to:
a) alter the scoring system (ToT or ToD) for individual races within a series?
b) apply different PHRF ratings for boats for different races within a series?
I’ve looked in the softare and can find nothing. I suspect that since this is a strange way of doing things, Sailwave probably can’t accommodate. My backup is to score the races in two separate series (sailwave files) and then combine them manually in Excel.
Advice?
There is no problem in having different ratings for different races
You can manually set the ratings on a per competitor / per race basis and can automate it using the NHC custom mode
As to having different rating systems for different races that I can’t think of a way at the moment other than scoring them in two separate files and merging them into a third. You don’t need to use Excel for this. There are merge capabilities built into Sailwave under the file menu, and these have recently been enhanced.

Is it also possible with Windrats? It would be nice to freeze them for already sailed races, as they change during the season if boats are using new sails in our weekly race.
