Discard races?

I would like help on whether there is a way in Sailwave to discard entire races from scoring, i.e. leave the entries as the record but do not count the race to score iin the series?

On some days in the club race series there are insufficient entries to make a valid class according to ADSC sailing instructions. Options for scoring such races include setting all series entrants scores to RDG-0, setting all entrants to DNC, or deleting the race entirely. I would like to know if there is an alternative to enter the boats who did sail for the record, but not to count such races in the series score.

Any hints out there?

Best regards,

Ian Grant

Hi Ian

The first thing that comes to mind would be to set the race as “Discard me first” then increment the discards by one so the race will always be discarded

Jon,

That sounds like it would do the trick. How do I apply the “discard me first” function in Sailwave?

Many thanks

Hi Ian,

Simply edit the race involved and then select edit start which is probably all competitors and click the Discard me first

Hope this helps
