I am attempting to set up Sailwave for my clubs sailing program and am looking for any assistance in discarding races.
The file I have established is to score a full season of races (number of races is 15). For our club, to qualify for the “cup”, you must complete the following number of races: # races + 1 Divided by 2 then round up (so 8 races for a 15 race series). If we have to cancel races, this number could be less.
For our club, if you race more than the required number of races, only x number of races needed to qualify for the cub will be scored. For example, Boat 1 may race all 15 races and will discard 7 of the lowest races scores. Boat 2 may complete 8 races and will need scores from all races to qualify for the cub. Therefore, at the end of the year, Boat 1 discards 7 races and Boat 2 discards zero.
Is there a way to set up a rule to do this or will it need to be done “manually” outside of Sailwave? Is there a way to override the “discard” button so the software will correctly score a series, even if a rule cannot be created to do this?
