Divisions - Seperate & Combined Results

We are holding a Regatta which will have 5 divisions. 2 days of
racing Combining Corrected times for the result.

Various divisions will have prizes allocated both seperately and
combined. I will try to outline them to clarify.

Each division has their own individual result.
Divisions 1, 2 & 3 (monohulls)are combined for 1 prize.
A "Classic" Division will be made up from some boats in Div 1,2,& 3.
A "Family" Division from all divisions.
Div 4 (multihulls) have their own divisional prize.
Div 5 (sportsboats) have their own division.
A Fastest Elapsed prize All Divisions.
A Last on Handicap prize All Divisions.
There will also be and overall CBH prize which all divisions are
included.

I believe it is simple to setup but I believe the terminology is
holding me back.

I'm running 1.94 B29 (not wanting to update until after the Regatta
this coming weekend).

It is a little complicated but you should be able to accomplish want you want through the use of aliases.

Create an entry for each boat in their own fleet (division 1,2,3,4,5)

Create an alias for each boat in each special fleet for which they qualify. (Monohulls, Classic, Family, etc.)

Create an alias for each boat in a Corected time fleet.

Create an alias for each boat in an Elapsed time fleet and set the handicap rule to one design for that fleet.

When you enter the finish times you will only need to enter it for the division entry, the other fleet entries will inherit the start and finish time from the division entry.

Play around with it using a small sample first to make sure it works for you.

I have managed to score a five hundred boat regatta with very similar requirements.

Sorry but I've not used aliases before. Can you step me through
setting up an alias and allocating to certain races.

Try it on a small number of boast so you can see how it works before tackling a full regatta.

After you have entered the boat in their fleet, division 1,2,3,4,5,etc. Click

Alias entry

· Create a new entry by clicking on the New Like button or Edit+New Competitor (like selected) or CTRL+SHIFT+N

· Select the competitor alias that you want to create an alias of so they can be in two fleets.

· Change the fleet in which they are sailing, FAMILY, etc.

The boat will then have an entry in two different fleets, Div 1 and family. When you enter the finish time or position for the original boat all aliases will inhert the finish tine and the boat will be scored in multiple fleets.

Hope that helps
