I want to save the dinghy ratings list to disc in order to transfer it
to my laptop which does not have an email facility. It automatically
saves to my PC but when I try to save that to disc I am told it is
read only. How can I save it to disc?

I assume the error message says the disk is read-only.

Is it a floppy disk or CD? Floppies have a "write-protect" device on one corner - is it possible that that has been set to the "write-protect" position.

I've never tried adding stuff to a CD that already has data on it - that may not be possible.

If both computers have USB ports, the easiest way to transfer files is to use a USB memory stick.

Try just saving to your hard drive and then use Explrer to "Send To"
your floppy.
