I am using SailWave for PY scoring for some time and for next season we would like to publish two sets of results - one based on PY as currently and a progressive handicap or Echo like system.
So the same races are scored twice - once PY and once handicapped and both sets of results to be published and prizes awarded at the end etc etc,
(Idea is to give all sailors a chance to win a series, but also maintain PY as currently).
What is the best way to do this ? I could probably run the results as PY every race day, publish PY and then change settings and republish to a new name ?
Or is there a better way - I do not like the changing of scoring system all the time - knowing me I will end up uploading the PY results with the handicapped ones and vice versa !
Clarification - the second scoring system should be progressive handicap system - is this NHC and how can I view what it has applied for a number of races.
Aliases? Have used them in the past to score the same results using two different handicaps. Not the quickest to set up (doubles the number of entries), but couldn’t find a better way at the time.

Hi Benne, This is a very common situation, and as Mike said Aliases is the method to use.
Once you have done it once it is very easy to use. There is a sample in the examples included with the Sailwave install - See NHCCowesWeekDual.blw in the examples and have a play with it. There are also some videos - links on the User group. Once it is set up you only enter the times once and Sailwave applies it to both sets automatically you can then publish them both at the same time or individually if you prefer.
The newer versions of Sailwave have a block creation of Aliases so very quick to set up as well.
Many thanks for the replies guys - I am now set up with the NCH and planning to use it on our series in 2017.
One final Question: what is the best way to carry the progressive handicaps forward from series to series - i.e. I have just used it for the Winter Series 2016 for 5 races - if I want to have the Spring Series use the final Winter Series handicaps as their starting point, what would you recommend ?
All the best,
Sorry for the delayed response - I only saw the replies now, I must look into a mail forwarder !
