I want to edit the list of available Fleet descriptions. There seems to be no way within Sailwave to do this but is it safe to directly edit the *.blw file entry against "serpubgroupvalues"
If you add a fleet to the scoring does it nor appear?

In the past some boats were given say "Sportsboat" as the fleet and then others were added as "SB3" etc. The trouble now is that whereas each boat can be reassigned to the correct fleet name, the old names are still shown in the drop-down list. This in turn means that when the results are published there are a whole bunch of fleets shown that have no boats in them so this makes the results sheets messy. I just want to delete all the no-longer used fleet names.

Tried deleting all competitors (including the excluded ones) with the old fleet names? When they are all gone the old fleet name is no longer in the drop-down.

i think this is a bug that yes, you could get
around by editing the .blw as mentioned. Assuming the fleet field has
been updated for everybody as appropriate.

i cant replicate this - if i change some of the
fleet fields then republish the list changes accordingly - can you send
the series (reaply and attach) and a click by click description of the
problem - i must be misinterpreting you.,
